Comprehensive Care in NE Calgary

Comprehensive care for every age and stage.

Health needs change over time. Comprehensive care looks beyond one symptom to your history, concerns, prevention and long-term goals. From checkups and screening to ongoing conditions, care for children, women and men, and mental wellness, the focus is clear conversations and practical next steps.

All listed clinic services are available from October 13, 2026, according to clinical assessment. Ongoing family-practice attachment remains subject to physician capacity.

The whole person

What is comprehensive care?

Comprehensive care considers overall health, rather than treating every concern in isolation. It brings together prevention, symptom assessment, condition monitoring, medication review, referrals and follow-up.

A regular relationship with a clinician can help recognize your history, notice changes and make the next steps easier to understand. The care you need varies with age, health history, symptoms, risk factors and clinical assessment.

Connecting the pieces of your care

You may come with an immediate concern or several related priorities. Family medicine can consider these together in one clinic and explain when additional providers, tests or services would help. Referrals and requisitions are arranged when clinically indicated.

Across every age and stage

Different needs.
A connected approach.

Prevention, shaped around you

Your health history, age and risk factors help guide screening, blood pressure checks, cardiovascular risk review, immunization and conversations about daily habits. Prevention follows Alberta guidance and your individual health profile, rather than a checklist that is identical for everyone.

New symptoms. Clear next steps.

New, persistent or changing symptoms deserve assessment. Depending on the findings, next steps may include monitoring, treatment, tests or a referral. From October 13, 2026, every patient arriving during walk-in hours will be seen the same day. Clinical triage applies and wait times vary; procedures depend on assessment.

Support for ongoing conditions

Diabetes, hypertension and cardiovascular risk can benefit from regular monitoring, medication review and lifestyle conversations. Follow-up is tailored to your needs, with specialist involvement where clinically indicated.

Care through life's changes

Children, adolescents, adults and older adults have different priorities. Child Care, women's health and men's health within family medicine can include growth and development, reproductive and sexual health, screening, medication review and healthy aging. Child Care here is not a specialist pediatrician service. All listed clinic services, including vaccinations and injections, are available from October 13, 2026, according to age, clinical eligibility and assessment; not every product or procedure is promised.

Mental wellness belongs here

Physical and mental health are connected. Conversations about anxiety, depression and stress may include screening, education, follow-up, treatment or referral based on clinical assessment.

Services that may be part of your care

This is a general guide, not a promise that every service will be suitable for every patient or visit. Your clinician determines appropriate assessments, tests, treatment and referrals.

From conversation to follow-up

What a visit may look like

  1. 01

    Start with a conversation

Discuss symptoms, health history, medications, family history, routines and changes you have noticed. Bring a medication list and any available records to help build the picture.

  2. 02

    Assess what is appropriate

Your clinician may recommend an examination, screening or a discussion about tests. These are guided by your needs and assessment, not identical for every patient.

  3. 03

    Make the next step clear

Review the assessment, options, warning signs and next steps. These may include self-care, a prescription, monitoring, tests, referral or a follow-up visit.

  4. 04

    Follow up as needed

Follow-up can review results, your response to treatment, medication updates and changing symptoms, according to clinical need and physician capacity.

A little preparation helps.

Bring the information you have so your clinician can understand your needs.

  • Your Alberta health card and photo identification
  • A list of prescriptions, over-the-counter medicines and supplements
  • Available test results, consultation notes and medical records
  • Your main concerns and questions
  • Known allergies and past medication reactions

More than one concern?

Let your clinician know your priorities at the start. If several concerns are unrelated, urgent issues may need to come first, with another visit arranged to give the remaining concerns a careful assessment.

A separate onsite pharmacy

A separately operated pharmacy is planned at the same address, with services available once that provider opens. A shared address can reduce travel between care steps, but separate registration and appointments may still be required.

Madox Medical, Diagnosticrem Ultrasound Imaging and the onsite pharmacy are three independent providers. Each manages its own services, bookings, hours and records.

Helpful to know

Common questions, answered

What does comprehensive care mean?

Comprehensive care is primary care that considers your overall health, including symptoms, medical history, prevention and ongoing conditions. Assessment, screening, medication review, monitoring, referrals and follow-up depend on your needs and the physician's clinical judgment.

Who is comprehensive care for?

From October 13, 2026, comprehensive care will support newborns, children, adults and older adults. Request a future appointment online and ask the clinic separately about becoming an attached family-practice patient. Ongoing family-practice care remains subject to physician capacity and clinical suitability.

What concerns can I discuss?

You can discuss prevention, new symptoms, medications, chronic conditions, mental wellness and age-related health needs. Your physician will determine what can be assessed safely and which tests, follow-up or referrals are appropriate.

Can I discuss multiple concerns in one visit?

Tell your physician about all your concerns so you can agree on priorities. An urgent issue may need attention first, with another visit arranged to assess other concerns carefully and in more detail.

Does comprehensive care include screening?

Yes. Preventive screening depends on your age, medical history, risk factors and Alberta guidance. Your physician will discuss the screening measures appropriate for your individual health profile.

Can comprehensive care help with chronic conditions?

Yes. Care can include monitoring diabetes, high blood pressure and cardiovascular risk, reviewing medications, discussing lifestyle changes and involving specialists where appropriate. The care and follow-up plan is individualized.

Do I need a referral for ultrasound?

Yes. Ultrasound requires a requisition from a licensed healthcare provider. Diagnosticrem Ultrasound Imaging is independent from Madox Medical and manages scan availability, scheduling, examinations and imaging records.

Is the onsite pharmacy part of Madox Medical?

No. The onsite pharmacy is independently operated, with its own staff, services, records and hours. Its opening and operating hours may differ from those of Madox Medical and Diagnosticrem.

When does Madox Medical open?

Opening October 13, 2026 at 3360 32 Street NE, Calgary. You can request a future appointment online; requests need confirmation. Joining opening updates is separate from appointment requests and does not register you as a patient or guarantee a place with a family doctor.

Can I use comprehensive care for an emergency?

Madox Medical is not an emergency department. For an emergency or immediate danger, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department. The general enquiry form and opening-updates list are not channels for urgent medical concerns.
