Ultrasound imaging, steps from your family doctor.
Diagnostic ultrasound at Madox Medical is planned to be provided onsite by Diagnosticrem Ultrasound Imaging, so you can often have your clinic visit and your ultrasound at one address — 3360 32 Street NE, Calgary, AB T1Y 6B9. Scheduling and clinical operations will be managed by the Diagnosticrem team.
Diagnosticrem
Onsite imaging · Same building as your family doctor
Family medicine and ultrasound under one roof means fewer trips, easier follow-up, and a smoother experience overall — your clinic visit and your scan can often happen at the same address.
Availability, specific scan types, and hours are determined by Diagnosticrem and are subject to operational and regulatory approvals.
Planned Onsite Imaging
Ultrasound services are planned to be provided onsite by Diagnosticrem Ultrasound Imaging. Diagnosticrem Ultrasound Imaging is a registered trade name operated by Diagnosticrem Inc and is an independent diagnostic imaging provider.
All ultrasound scans require a referral from a licensed healthcare provider. Exact scan availability is set by Diagnosticrem and may evolve as services come online — your referring physician will confirm which scans are appropriate for you.
Abdominal & Urinary
Abdominal ultrasound
Looks at the liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen, kidneys, and abdominal aorta — without radiation.
Renal & bladder ultrasound
Checks the kidneys, ureters, and bladder for stones, cysts, or signs of obstruction.
Abdominal aorta screening
Screens for an abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) — a widening of the body's main artery.
Before your scan
Usually requires fasting for several hours beforehand so the gallbladder and upper abdomen image clearly. Diagnosticrem will confirm the exact instructions when they book you.
Pelvic & Pregnancy
Gynaecological (pelvic) ultrasound
Evaluates the uterus, ovaries, and pelvic organs for fibroids, cysts, or abnormal bleeding.
- Obstetric ultrasound
Diagnosticrem Ultrasound Imaging plans to provide obstetric ultrasound services across pregnancy, subject to physician referral, clinical indication, final accredited scope and availability at launch.
Before your scan
Preparation requirements vary by examination. Diagnosticrem will provide the appropriate instructions when scheduling.
Thyroid, Neck & Soft Tissue
Thyroid ultrasound
High-resolution imaging of the thyroid gland to assess nodules, enlargement, or structural changes.
Neck ultrasound
Looks at neck lymph nodes, salivary glands, and other structures for lumps or swelling.
Scrotal ultrasound
Evaluates the testicles and scrotum for lumps, pain, swelling, or varicoceles.
Soft tissue ultrasound
Examines superficial lumps, cysts, and other soft tissue findings just under the skin.
Small parts ultrasound
High-resolution look at superficial structures like hernias, lymph nodes, and subcutaneous lesions.
Before your scan
No special preparation in most cases — just wear comfortable clothing that gives easy access to the area being scanned. Diagnosticrem will flag anything specific when they book you.
Vascular Doppler
Carotid Doppler ultrasound
Checks blood flow through the carotid arteries in the neck to look for narrowing or plaque and help assess stroke risk.
Venous Doppler ultrasound
Checks blood flow in the veins — most often in the legs — to look for deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or other clots.
Before your scan
Generally no fasting needed — wear loose clothing that lets the technologist reach the area being scanned (neck or leg). Diagnosticrem will share any extras when they book you.
From requisition to results
Ultrasound is a referred service. You'll need a requisition from a physician — from Madox Medical or any other clinic — before Diagnosticrem can schedule your scan.
See your physician
Your family doctor — at Madox Medical or elsewhere — will determine whether an ultrasound is appropriate and issue a requisition.
Requisition sent to Diagnosticrem
The referral will be sent to Diagnosticrem, the independent imaging provider planning to operate onsite at 3360 32 Street NE.
Diagnosticrem schedules your scan
Diagnosticrem will contact you to book an appointment that fits their availability. Scheduling will be handled entirely by their team.
Attend onsite, follow up with your doctor
Your examination will take place in the same building as your clinic visit. Results will be returned to your referring physician for follow-up.
Madox Medical does not operate the ultrasound service, schedule appointments, or deliver imaging results. All imaging-related questions are handled by Diagnosticrem.
